Date & Time

Seth Compton
Description

This session explores the importance of gender affirming care for youth within Live-In Treatment Services (LITS), led by Seth Compton, an experienced youth advocate, educator, and founder of OUTLoud North Bay, a registered charity and safe space for 2SLGBTQ+ youth. As a member of the 2SLGBTQ+ community and a frontline leader, Seth brings a deeply informed perspective shaped by lived experience and years of supporting youth.

Through real world examples and reflective dialogue, Seth will share insights into what 2SLGBTQ+ youth have found to be supportive and what has created barriers in their experiences. The session will highlight the critical role of gender affirming care in fostering safety, trust, and healing, and will explore how relational, trauma informed, and inclusive practices can transform Live-In Treatment environments. Participants will be invited to reflect on how their own services can evolve to better support 2SLGBTQ+ youth and strengthen affirming, equity-focused care across systems.
