Description

This session explores Critical Reflective Leadership Practice (CRP) through an anti-Black racism and antiracist leadership lens, offering leaders a framework to critically examine and transform intensive treatment systems to better serve Black and racialized children and youth.

Participants will explore how to uncover patterns of systemic inequities, challenge power, and co-create culturally responsive, safe, and affirming care environments from a trauma informed lens.

Through case examples, facilitated dialogue, and guided reflection, participants will:

  • Examine how anti-Black racism, racial bias, and structural inequities shape treatment experiences and outcomes for Black and racialized children and youth.
  • Apply critical reflective practice to identify personal and organizational blind spots that reproduce inequity in service delivery.
  • Explore what antiracist leadership looks like in practice within the OITP model, how to move from awareness to systemic change.
  • Identify strategies and leadership actions to embed culturally appropriate, safe, and responsive approaches into intensive treatment design and implementation.
  • Reflect collectively on what needs to be built into the OITP model to ensure equitable and sustainable transformation.
