Description

The Family Navigation Project (FNP) at Sunnybrook is a Mental Health and Addictions Navigation Service for youth ages 11-29 within the Greater Toronto Area (GTA). In 2020, FNP embarked on its youth engagement journey starting with a research study that formed the basis of its Youth Engagement Strategy. Four years on, youth engagement at FNP now includes the involvement of youth staff and advisors throughout all facets of organizational operations. This presentation will showcase how FNP implemented its Youth Engagement Strategy and engage attendees in reflective discussions on how to collaborate and develop partnerships that are mutually beneficial for both youths and organizations.

Learning Objectives

  1. For attendees to reflect on the current levels of youth engagement within their organizations.
  2. Encourage attendees to familiarize themselves on how to incorporate youth engagement into organizational practices, policies and procedures.
  3. Showcase ways to create initiatives that provide mutual benefits to both the organization and youth partners.
