(F1) Transforming Service Delivery of Community Eating Disorders Treatment: An Innovative Approach to Service Delivery Between the Simcoe Muskoka Regional Eating Disorder Program and New Path Youth and Family Services
Description

Pediatric eating disorders have been on the rise, which cannot be ignored. The Advanced Community Eating Disorders (ACED) Care initiative was established with support from TD Bank Group to provide capacity-building resources and operational support needed to develop holistic care for youth in Simcoe County and Muskoka. A joint initiative with Simcoe Muskoka Regional Eating Disorder Program (SMREDP) and New Path Youth and Family Services partnered to create a pilot program to add additional support for youth and families completing the manualized care program with SMREDP. This presentation will explore how the pilot project was created, implemented, and delivered, as well as the success, challenges and future considerations.

Learning Objectives

1. Learn about the impacts observed post covid-19 specific to pediatric eating disorder prevalence and presentations.

2. Learn about the innovative, evidence informed and scalable approaches to treatment providing step-up and step-down care that drove this partnership to address the significant increase in pediatric eating disorders/disordered eating.

3. Gain an understanding of what youth and their families achieved through the programming partnership and what that looked like from services with SMREDP to New Path Youth and Family Services.
