Speaker Bio
Sonia Arruda is a registered nurse with over 10 years of experience in pediatric psychiatry and community health nursing. She has worked at the Royal Ottawa Hospital and as a Family Support Worker for the Infant Hearing and Blind-Low Vision Programs of Eastern Ontario. Sonia co-leads the Head2Toe Program, CHEO’s suicide screening initiative, and serves as a panelist for updating the RNAO Best Practice Guideline on the Assessment and Care of Persons at Risk for Suicidal Ideation and Behaviors. Outside of work, she enjoys dance, fitness, and spending time with her cats, Millhouse and Boo-Boo.
