Elizabeth Mitchell, PhD, RP, MTA, is Assistant Professor at Wilfrid Laurier University in Waterloo, Ontario, where she coordinates the Bachelor of Music Therapy program. As a Registered Psychotherapist and Certified Music Therapist, she has extensive clinical experience working in mental health treatment settings with children, youth, and adults. Her research interests include community, relational, and anti-oppressive approaches to music therapy practice, and music’s role in enhancing mental health and wellbeing within music therapy and in everyday life. She recently served as Ethics Chair for the Canadian Association of Music Therapists.
