Dr. Kayla Hamel completed her Ph.D. in 2021 in the Clinical Developmental Psychology program at York University and her postdoctoral fellowship in 2025 at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health. She is registered as a Clinical Psychologist practicing with children and adolescents. She has conducted research and clinical work related to mental health and resilience with marginalized populations, including with children and youth living on the street in Nicaragua, and with youth in Toronto who recently transitioned out of homelessness. She has published research in several academic journals and presented at multiple research conferences.
