(E1) Making Measurement Meaningful: Strengthening Youth-Centered Care Through Measurement-Based Care (MBC) at Youth Wellness Hubs Ontario (YWHO)
Description

MBC involves the systematic administration of standardized measures and the use of results to drive clinical decision-making within a therapeutic relationship framework. As a core standard within YWHO’s model, MBC helps ensure care is responsive, personalized, and effective for young people. Despite the evidence that shows the benefits of MBC, there is minimal established standards and guidelines to support clinicians to implement MBC meaningfully into everyday practice.  This presentation highlights YWHO’s innovative, system-wide strategies and guidelines to strengthen the implementation of MBC, including the first asynchronous MBC curriculum designed specifically for youth mental health settings, and dedicated clinical coaching delivered across YWHO hubs. Participants will hear from a youth advisor involved in the co-creation of youth facing MBC resources, as well as directly from a YWHO clinician about practical approaches, common challenges, and creative strategies to embed MBC into care and enhance outcomes for young people across Ontario.
